Scoring Action
- Belmont had the bases loaded with two outs in the fifth inning. Charlie Davis singled through the right side and scored Michael Lareau and Blake Barton. The Bruins took a 2-0 lead on the first scoring action of the game.
- Mike Sprockett led off the sixth inning with a double to right-center. Ty Allen singled to move Sprockett to third. Barton stepped up and smacked an RBI base hit through the right side. Belmont's lead grew, 3-0.
Bruin Bullets
- Joe Ruzicka improved to 5-2 on the season and 4-1 in MVC play. The junior right-hander tossed seven scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Ruzicka allowed only four hits and four walks. Friday's performance is the fourth time Ruzicka has thrown at least seven innings and allowed no runs in a conference start, all in the last five starts.
- Ethan Harden recorded his team-leading sixth save of the season. Harden struck out a season-high four batters and allowed only one hit.
- Pete Daniel notched his 20th multi-hit game and hit a double.
- Charlie Davis drove in two runs.
- Ty Allen went 2-for-4.
- Blake Barton had two hits, two stolen bases and reached base four times.
