NASHVILLE, Tenn. – What a weekend it was at E.S. Rose Park. After a disappointing loss Friday night followed by a 1-0 victory on Saturday, Belmont (13-20, 4-5 MVC) defeated Indiana State (15-16, 5-4 MVC) in a thrilling ten-inning game thanks to
Landon Godsey's heroic two-run home run.

Scoring Action
- Indiana State's Carlos Pena hit a solo home run in the first inning.
- Belmont's offense quickly put up four runs in the first. Landon Godsey drew a bases-loaded walk to tie the game at 1-1. Blake Barton followed with a sacrifice fly and Michael Lareau drove in two on a single through the right side. Belmont led 4-1 after one inning
- Thomas Emerich led off the second inning with a solo home run. Eli Gipson cut Belmont's lead to one with a sacrifice bunt.
- Pete Daniel launched his second home run to lead off Belmont's second trip to the plate. Godsey homered to left-center field two batters later. Following a pair of two-out singles, Jake Maddox scored Barton on a single up the middle. The Bruins led 7-3 after the second inning.
- Indiana State's Carlos Pena hit a solo shot to start the third inning.
- The Sycamores brought the game within two in the fourth inning. Eli Gipson reached on a throwing error and scored on a RBI single from Carter Beck. Belmont clung to a 7-5 lead after the fourth inning.
- Charlie Davis hit a two-out solo home run in the fifth inning. Belmont led 8-5.
- Indiana State scored three runs on two hits in the eighth inning to tie the game, 8-8. Nomar Garcia hit an RBI double and Pena brought home two runs on a single.
- Ty Allen led off the tenth inning with a single to left-center field. Landon Godsey crushed a 2-1 fastball off the scoreboard in left-center field to walk off the Sycamores and win the game, 10-8. Â Â
Bruin Bullets
- Sunday's win resulted in the Bruins' first series win over Indiana State. Belmont broke the Sycamores' 21-conference series win streak dating back to 2022.
- Head Coach Dave Jarvis notched his 1,100th career win. Coach Jarvis is in his 28th season at Belmont and 43rd overall as a head coach.
- Five Bruins recorded multi-hit games: Pete Daniel, Charlie, Ty Allen, Landon Godsey and Jake Maddox.
- Godsey homered twice, tied his season high of four RBIs and stole two bases.
- Michael Lareau drove in two runs.
- Andrew Perry threw a career-high 4.2 innings and recorded five strikeouts. Perry allowed one run on four hits.
- Ethan Harden struck out two batters in 1.2 scoreless innings.
- Owen Marsh picked up his first win as a Bruin.
