BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Belmont (14-21) and North Alabama (11-20) met for the second time this season Wednesday at historic Ridgewood Field. The Bruins' four runs in the sixth inning seemed to be just enough to defeat the Lions, but North Alabama scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth to win 5-4 and split the season series.

Scoring Action
- Ethan Walker scored Wes Walker on an RBI single to right field in the second inning,
- Wes Walker hit a solo home run in the fourth inning to give North Alabama a 2-0 lead.
- Belmont's offense awoke in the sixth inning. Belmont's first run of the game came on a wild pitch. Jake Maddox hit an RBI single to tie the game. The Bruins pulled a double steal and took a 3-2 lead on a throwing error. Michael Lareau extended Belmont's lead to 4-2 with an RBI single down the left-field line.
- In the ninth inning with the bases loaded, North Alabama's RJ Sherwood hit a double to the left-field corner that scored two runs. A throwing error by Pete Daniel on the play allowed for the game-winning run to cross and the Lions to win the game, 5-4.
Bruin Bullets
- Pete Daniel went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases.
- Jake Maddox had two hits and an RBI.
- Zane Brown had his best outing of the season, and set new season highs in innings (6) and strikeouts (7). Brown allowed two runs on four hits and issued no walks.
- Trey Maeker struck out three batters in 2.1 innings with one earned run.
