NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont (23-28, 12-11 MVC) and Murray State (34-12, 16-7 MVC) continued their weekend series Saturday at E.S. Rose Park. Murray State jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and didn't look back, going on to win 8-1 and clinch the series victory.

Scoring Action
- Murray State got on the board first in the third inning. The Racers capitalized with the bases loaded, scoring four runs on five hits. Dom Decker started the scoring for Murray State with an RBI single to right field. Luke Mistone followed with an RBI single through the left side. Will Vierling brought in two runs on a double lined down the right field line. The Racers led 4-0 after the top of the third.
- The Racers added two runs in the fourth inning. Decker hit a double to the right-field corner, scoring Carson Garner and Jonathan Hogart.
- Murray State extended their lead to 8-0 in the sixth inning. Vierling hit a two-out single up the middle with the bases loaded, scoring Dustin Mercer and Garner.
- Belmont got on the board in the ninth inning. Blake Barton hit an RBI ground-rule double to left field. Preston Heben scored to make it an 8-1 deficit.
Bruin Bullets
- Dean Spoto had a career-high two hits in the game.
- Blake Barton recorded his second multi-hit game of the series and an RBI.
- Trey Maeker was efficient in two scoreless innings out of the bullpen. Maeker tied his season-high nine strikeouts and retired all nine batters faced.
- Jonathon Van Ness threw a 1-2-3 ninth inning with a strikeout.Â

Belmont and Murray conclude their weekend series tomorrow, May 11. First pitch in the final home game of the regular season at E.S. Rose Park is set for 1 p.m. CT.
