Belmont Student-Athletes Have a Successful Spring Semester in the Classroom

The department GPA for the 2025 spring semester was 3.521.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University student-athletes recorded another remarkable semester in the classroom as 2025 spring semester grades were finalized last week. 

For the 2025 spring semester, the departmental grade-point average (GPA) was 3.521, which marked the 55th consecutive semester that Belmont student-athletes have earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher. In addition, it was the 11th straight semester that the department GPA was over a 3.5. 
 
For the entire 2024-25 academic year, the department GPA was 3.528. 
 
"Year after year, our student-athlete continue to do remarkable work in the classroom," said Scott Corley, Belmont Vice President/Director of Athletics.  "This is a credit to our student-athletes, coaches, and academic support staff who continue to strive to maintain our department's commitment to academic excellence."

Highlights from the spring semester included: 
  • 64 percent of student-athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • 84 percent of student-athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.0 of higher
  • 55 student-athletes (23%) earned a perfect 4.00 GPA
  • 10 Bruin teams posted a team GPA of 3.5 or higher for the semester.
The top-10 team GPAs from the spring semester were as follows:

Women's Tennis – 3.925
Women's Cross Country – 3.898
Men's Golf – 3.876
Volleyball – 3.767
Men's Soccer – 3.733
Softball – 3.725
Women's Track and Field – 3.712
Women's Soccer – 3.641
Women's Golf – 3.628
Men's Basketball – 3.500
