CHICAGO – Belmont (24-30, 13-12 MVC) and UIC (18-31, 14-11 MVC) began the final series of the regular season Thursday afternoon at Curtis Granderson Stadium. After a scoreless first inning, the Flames scored in the following six innings to win 13-3 in seven innings.

- UIC went up 2-0 in the second inning. AJ Taylor hit an RBI single and Luke Nowak brought in a run on a sacrifice fly.
- Ty Allen put Belmont on the board in the third inning with an RBI double.
- The Flames responded with an RBI double from Jackson Bessette. UIC led 3-1 after three innings.
- Landon Godsey hit a solo home run in the fourth inning.
- Lucas Smith and UIC answered with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth. Uic remained ahead by two, 4-2.
- UIC scored a pair of runs in the fifth inning. James Harris hit a sacrifice fly and Taylor hit a solo home run. The Flames led 7-2.
- Belmont responded in the sixth inning. Jake Maddox hit a two-out RBI single through the left side. Pete Daniel was thrown out at third base to end the inning. UIC's lead was cut, 7-3.
- The Flames scored six unanswered runs in the sixth and seventh innings. Colin Husko hit the game-winning RBI single in the seventh inning. UIC won the game, 13-3.Â
