Two Women's Golfers Earn Academic All- District Honors

Eva Graham and Chloe Tarkany represent Belmont on this year's list of honorees.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two Belmont women's golfers, Eva Graham and Chloe Tarkany were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large Team as announced by the organization on Tuesday. 

Graham recently graduated from Belmont with 3.93 GPA in Management.  She competed in all 10 events for BU and ranked fourth on the team with a 79.4 average.  She had three top-25 finishes, with her best showing being a tie for 16th place at the Don Benbow Invitational in March. 

Tarkany recently graduated from Belmont with a 4.00 GPA in Finance and plans to work on her masters degree at Belmont next year.  She competed in all 10 events for the Bruins and led the team in scoring at 75.9.   The Arizona native tied for team lead in top-10 (4) and top-20 (6) finishes and in rounds under par (3).  Her best finishes were a fourth place showing at the Braun Intercollegiate and fifth places finishes at Butler and Murray State.  Chloe was also a three-time MVC Golfer of the Week.  

Overall, six Belmont women's golfers have garnered the award in the Division I era. 

To earn Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). He must have participated in at least 75 percent of his team's games during the regular season. No student-athlete is eligible until he/she has completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution and been on a college roster in that sport for two years. For transfers, graduate students, and two-year college graduates, the student-athlete must have completed one full calendar year at the nominating institution to be eligible, although graduate students who are competing at a different institution than the one from which they earned their undergraduate degree are eligible even if they are in their first semester at the graduate institution. Nominees in graduate school must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above both as an undergrad and in grad school.
