Men's Soccer Tops Harvard 1-0 to Improve to 3-0

Brock Kiper Scores Game Winner on 61st-Minute Header

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the first time in program history, the Belmont University men's soccer team is 3-0 after defeating Harvard University Friday night at Jordan Field in Cambridge, Massachusetts. A 61st-minute header by redshirt junior forward Brock Kiper proved to be the difference as the Bruins earned their second consecutive road shutout.

Six of Belmont's 10 shots were placed on target, and the Bruins held the Crimson without a shot on goal through the first 63 minutes of action. In fact, Belmont gave up only two shots on target for the night and didn't allow a first-half corner kick.

The Bruins earned five corners in the first half before Kiper broke free on a run with a little less than 30 minutes remaining.

Senior midfielder Oscar Hough found fellow senior midfielder Brad Dildy in the corner and Dildy fed a perfect ball into Kiper, who headed it home for the game winner. Kiper's goal was his second in as many matches after taking the penalty kick in Belmont's road victory at Memphis last Sunday.

A little over five minutes after finding the back of the net, Kiper nearly scored again on another header, but his shot went high right. The Mason, Ohio (Archbishop Moeller HS), native finished with four shots.

Graduate goalkeeper Grant Calvert picked up his ninth career clean sheet and second straight, making a pair of saves in the final 30 minutes. Of Note
  • The Bruins have secured a result in six of their last seven matches going back to last season.
  • Belmont has gone unbeaten for five-straight matches dating back to Oct. 25 of last year. It is the Bruins' longest unbeaten streak since the latter part of the 2022 season.
  • Belmont has earned consecutive shutouts for the second-straight season.
  • Friday night's matchup with Harvard was the first meeting between the two programs.
  • Kiper furthered his team lead in both career goals (10) and points (22).
