Dave Jarvis said this about Max,"We are so excited to have Max Wright as a member of our staff this year! With his background at Indiana State, in the San Francisco Giants organization, and then Illinois State, I think he is very prepared for what lies ahead of him. He's at the beginning of what I know is going to be a great coaching career."
Most recently, Wright served as the director of baseball operations at Illinois State, where he led practices and camp planning, oversaw all aspects of team travel and logistics, managed the Redbirds' budget, and assisted with fundraising and community engagement efforts.
Â
Wright also took a lead role with catcher development, infield and outfield defensive work, and organized prospect and youth camps.
Â
The Ontario, Canada native also served as catching instructor with the Toronto Mets Baseball Club – the leading amateur baseball program in Canada.
Â
Wright provided specialized instruction, player development, and life skills across multiple age groups.
Â
He also gained experience as a hitting and catching instructor with the Hit Dogs Baseball Club – the premier player development program in the state of Arizona.
Wright played professionally with the San Francisco Giants organization from 2021 through 2023. During his tenure, he contributed to championship-winning teams, helping the 2021 Giants' Low-A squad, San Jose Giants, secure the California League title and the 2022 Eugene Emeralds capture the Northwest League championship.
One of the most decorate catchers in Missouri Valley Conference history, Wright earned Academic All-America, ABCA All-Region, and First Team All-MVC honors for Indiana State. He was part of two Sycamore NCAA Tournament teams, earning victories over Ohio State and Presbyterian.
Wright is currently pursuing a master's degree in business administration from Illinois State. He earned his bachelor's degree with honors in recreation and sport management from Indiana State in 2020.
