PADUCAH, Ky. – Led by
Sloane Biddle's runner-up finish, the Belmont women's golf team tied for sixth place at The Velvet Classic held this week at the Country Club of Paducah in Paducah, Kentucky.
In Tuesday's final round, the Bruins posted a 302 to move up a spot and finish in a tie for sixth place with Austin Peay at 920. Troy won the team title with a score of 895, with UNC Asheville in second at 896.Â
Sophomore
Sloane Biddle shot a one-under par 71 in the final round to finish in a four-way tie for first place at 221. In the ensuing playoff, Constanza Quiroga of Troy won the individual title on the first playoff hole.Â
It was Biddle's second top-two finish in her last three events dating back to last spring and her fifth top-10 finish of her Belmont career.
Graduate student
Chloe Tarkany picked up her first top-20 finish of the season as she tied for 12
th place at 226. She shot a 74 in Tuesday's final round.Â
