Women's Soccer Storm Past Valparaiso, 3-0

Bruins Earn Three Conference Points in Final Home Match of the Regular Season

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University women's soccer earned a conference victory over Valparaiso 3-0 powered by a brace from Reagan Ross to earn three conference points on Saturday at E.S. Rose Park.

The Bruins jumped on the Beacons quickly creating a corner kick in just the third minute and never looked back.

Belmont continued to play in the driver's seat for a majority of the first half controlling the pace of the match well.

Meredith Koltz did a fantastic job stepping up offensively for the Bruins leading the point of attack and generating several opportunities for Belmont.

With just under a minute left top play in the first half Banin Patterson dished it to Lydia Johnson who punched a cross to Reagan Ross who's one timer was good to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead to end the first half.

Belmont continued their attack on Valparaiso to start the second half earning a pair of corner kicks in the first five minutes of the second half which led to the first Bruins PK of the year that Lillie Tabor drilled for her first career goal to put the Bruins up 2-0 in the 50th minute.

The Bruins refused to step off the gas, earning yet another corner kick that Tabor placed perfectly for Ross to do what she does best, slamming a header into the back of the net to earn a brace and put the Bruins up 3-0.

Belmont continued to control the match forcing the Beacons to play on their heels for a majority of the second half.

The Bruins held on to their 3-0 lead to win their final regular season match at E.S. Rose Park and earn three conference points.

Defensively Belmont continues to excel holding Valparaiso to just three shots all saved by Greta Genie to earn a clean sheet.

The Bruins (3-8-4) return to action Sunday on the road against Indiana State. Match time is set for 12 p.m. CT from Memorial Stadium. The match will be broadcasted on ESPN+ and the ESPN app.
