INDIANAPOLIS – After leading the Belmont University men's tennis team to its second consecutive 7-0 home sweep, senior
Sabi Roi has been named Horizon League Singles Player of the Week. Announced by the league office midday Wednesday, Roi earns the Bruins' first player of the week award of the season.

The Lyon, France, native topped Alabama A&M's Arnav Pathange 7-5, 6-1 at the top singles spot Saturday evening inside the Ensworth Tennis Center in Nashville. The straight-set victory was his second in a row at No. 1 singles.

In doubles Saturday versus the Bulldogs, Roi and junior
Stefan Vedovelli defeated Alabama A&M's Pathange and Goran Krivokapic 6-4 on court one. The duo is 3-1 at No. 1 doubles on the young season.

The Horizon League Singles Player of the Week plaudit is Roi's second of his career. He garnered the weekly honor on April 2 last spring.

Belmont returns to match action Saturday at the University of Louisville. First serve from the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center in Louisville, Kentucky, is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT/12 p.m. ET. Next Thursday, Feb. 12, the Bruins take on Vanderbilt down the street from Belmont at the Commodores' Lummis Family Tennis Center.
