SILVIS, Ill. – The Belmont women's golf team is tied for third place after round one of the MVC Championship held Sunday at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.
On a cool and windy Sunday, Belmont shot a team score of 312 in round one to put them in a tie in third place with Drake.  They are eight strokes back of the leader, Murray State (304) and five back of second place Bradley (312).
Three Bruins are among the top-10 after 18 holes.  Sophomore
Sloane Biddle is alone in third place after carding a 74 on Sunday.  She is one stroke back of the leaders: Alyssa Mixon of Bradley and Ella Scherer of Murray State, who both shot 73.  Biddle had five birdies, five bogeys, and one double bogey on her card. Â
Graduate student
Chloe Tarkany and freshman
Lauren Davis are both tied for eighth place after each posted a 77. Â
Junior
Paige Hammarstrom is tied for 37
th place after shooting a 84, while sophomore
Harper Edwards is tied for 53
rd after shooting a 91.
