KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the fifth-straight year, the Belmont University men's soccer program has been honored by United Soccer Coaches for its exemplary work in the classroom. The Bruins have once again earned the coaches association's Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year, as announced by the organization last Friday, Aug. 7.
It marks the 13th time in program history Belmont has secured the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award.
The Bruins posted a remarkable 3.62 team grade point average in 2025-26, improving upon their 3.575 team GPA in 2024-25. During the fall semester while in season, Belmont recorded an impressive 3.64 team GPA. For the spring semester, the Bruins led all Belmont men's teams with a 3.618 team GPA.

Dylan Steely, who was a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American, the Bruins had seven student-athletes who claimed postseason academic honors. Senior defender

Lucas Wolthers were selected as College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District

Oscar Hough on the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team.
Annually, United Soccer Coaches awards collegiate soccer programs at all levels for their commendable performance in the classroom. To garner United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award status, a program must maintain a team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the academic year.
Belmont begins its regular season in just one week, hosting in-state adversary Memphis for its season opener at Rose Park next Thursday, Aug. 20.
The Bruins played the first of two exhibition matches last weekend against the University of Evansville and wrap up their preseason this Saturday, Aug. 15 with a visit from crosstown NCAA Division II Trevecca Nazarene. Kickoff of Saturday evening's exhibition match is slated for 6 p.m. from E.S. Rose Park.
