LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - Belmont University women's soccer dropped a 5-0 decision at Louisville Sunday night from Lynn Stadium.
 
The Atlantic Coast Conference contenders got off to a strong start as Amelia Swinarski scored in the 10^th minute.
 
Megan Miller had an opportunity in the 22^nd minute but Brielle Baker made a low save.
 
Louisville extended to a 2-0 lead in the 26^th minute, before the Bruins nearly cut the margin in half right before halftime but Baker denied an attempt from Banin Patterson.
 
Belmont defended well to open the second half and truly maintained connection in the match.
 
But three host tallies in the last 15 minutes provided the final margin.
 
MVC goalkeeper of the week Greta Genie made six saves for Belmont.
 
Belmont (1-2-1) returns to game action Thursday vs. Marshall. Match time is set for 6:30 p.m. CT from E.S. Rose Park. The match will be broadcast on ESPN+ and the ESPN app.
