NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's tennis team fell to visiting Xavier 6-1 in a match played Saturday afternoon at Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville.
The Bruins picked up the first point of the match as they captured two of the doubles matches to get the doubles point. At number one, Rodrigo Amaral and Rafael Matos beat Patrick Bandy and Brian Starr 8-5. Then at number two, Felipe Cirne Lima and Bruno Silva defeated Bobby Deye and Jimmy Roebker 8-4.
In singles, Xavier stormed back and swept all six singles matches to clinch the match victory 6-1.
Belmont (0-3) will be back in action next Friday at home as they open conference play with Kennesaw State beginning at 1:00pm at Centennial Sportsplex.
