Men's Basketball Hosts Lipscomb Wednesday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns to action Wednesday night against Lipscomb. 

The Bruins defeated No. 12/11 North Carolina, 83-80, Nov. 17. Senior J.J. Mann (Smyrna, Ga.) scored a career-high 28 points, including the game-winning three-point field goal with 14 seconds left.

Mann received numerous weekly honors, including National Player of the Week from CBSSports.com and NBCSports.com, TSWA Player of the Week and OVC Player of the Week.

Senior Drew Windler (South Milwaukee, Wisc.) was named OVC Newcomer of the Week.

This marks the fourth time Belmont head coach Rick Byrd and former Belmont point guard a longtime assistant coach Casey Alexander ('95) have coached against each other. In 2011-12, Alexander's first season at the helm at Stetson, Belmont defeated the Hatters, 84-71 in Nashville, and 106-93 in DeLand. The Bruins won at Lipscomb, 87-83, to open the 2013-14 season.

Alexander and Lipscomb associate head coach Roger Idstrom coached five current Belmont players (Chamberlain, Jenkins, Lang, Mann, Mobley). 

Belmont enters play with a 21-game home court win streak - the longest active home court win streak in the nation.

This marks the 134th meeting between Belmont and Lipscomb.
