Men's Basketball Faces Hofstra Sunday

UNCASVILLE, Conn. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns to action Sunday night against Hofstra in the Springfield Bracket of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament.

The Bruins defeated Holy Cross, 81-70, Saturday. Sophomore Craig Bradshaw (Ridgetop, Tenn.) led four Bruins in double figures with a career-high 21 points.

This marks the third meeting between Belmont and Hofstra. Coach Byrd and former Hofstra and current Villanova head coach Jay Wright agreed to a home and home series in the 1998-99 and 1999-2000 season. The Pride won at home, 67-44, Jan. 6, 1999 and at Belmont, 78-68, Dec. 4, 1999. Hofstra was led by future NBA player and current Hofstra assistant Craig "Speedy" Claxton.

Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. CT from the Mohegan Sun Arena. The live play-by-play of Voice of the Bruins Kevin Ingram can be heard on the Bruin Sports Network, with live video streaming available on The Basketball Channel.
