NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball continues a busy stretch of games Tuesday night against Brescia.
The Bruins defeated Holy Cross, 85-75, Sunday to win the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Tipoff Tournament Championship. Sophomore Craig Bradshaw (Ridgetop, Tenn.) led three Bruins in double figures with a career-high 24 points en route to OVC co-Player of the Week honors.
Belmont is the third OVC opponent for Brescia this season. The Bearcats played at Murray State Nov. 12 (L, 69-97) and at Eastern Kentucky Nov. 22 (L, 56-95). Brescia will also play at Western Kentucky Dec. 28.
This marks the fifth meeting between Belmont and Brescia. Belmont won all four meetings during the program's NAIA era. The Bruins won the last meeting, Jan. 19, 1987, 101-87.
