DENVER, Colo. - - Belmont University men's basketball visits the Mile High City to face Denver Tuesday night.
The Bruins dropped an 85-72 decision at South Dakota State Saturday. Sophomore Craig Bradshaw (Ridgetop, Tenn.) scored a team-high 17 points.
Belmont head coach Rick Byrd and Denver head coach Joe Scott have coached against each other before. The Bruins and Scott's Air Force team played a home and home series during the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons, with each winning at home. The Bruins won 46-38 in Nashville, Nov. 30, 2003. Belmont went 21-9 that season, defeated nationally-ranked Missouri, and earned a berth in the Postseason NIT, while the Falcons ended the 2003-04 regular season ranked No. 25, earning a No. 11 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
After starting the same five players every game but one last season, the Bruins have had to utilize four different starting lineups over the last five games.
Belmont (1000) and Denver (995) had two of the highest reported NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores in men's basketball last year.
Tip-off is set for 9 p.m. CT. The live play-by-play can be heard on the Bruin Sports Network, with in-game updates available on Twitter @BelmontMBB.
