Men's Basketball Hosts Fairfield Monday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns home Monday afternoon to host Fairfield.

The Bruins and Stags were scheduled to play Dec. 11 in Nashville, but Fairfield was unable to travel due to inclement weather. Belmont defeated Tennessee State, 79-65, Saturday night. Senior J.J. Mann (Smyrna, Ga.) led balanced Bruin scoring with 17 points.

Belmont and Fairfield both took part in the 2013 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Tipoff Tournament. Though they did not face each other, the Bruins and Stags each played against Holy Cross and Richmond.

Belmont is 1-0 lifetime against current members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, defeating Marist, 102-74, Nov. 22, 2010.

This marks the first meeting between Belmont and Fairfield.

Tip-off is set for 2:30 p.m. CT from the Curb Event Center. The game will be broadcast live on the OVC Digital Network. The live play-by-play of Voice of the Bruins Kevin Ingram can be heard on the Bruin Sports Network. In-game updates will be available on Twitter @BelmontMBB.

Admission will be FREE to the public, with our friends from Donut Den offering free donuts to the first 500 Bruin fans in attendance.
