MOREHEAD, Ky. - - Belmont University men's basketball opens the second half of OVC play Wednesday night at Morehead State.
The Bruins defeated Eastern Kentucky, 84-81, Jan. 25. Senior J.J. Mann (Smyrna, Ga.) scored a career-high 34 points en route to OVC Player of the Week and Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) Player of the Week honors.
Belmont (Ian Clark, Utah Jazz) and Morehead State (Kenneth Faried, Denver Nuggets) each have a former player currently in the NBA.
Belmont and Morehead State have each enjoyed postseason success in recent years. The Bruins reached the NCAA Tournament six of the last eight years while Morehead State won games in the NCAA Tournament in 2009 and 2011.
This marks the fourth meeting between Belmont and Morehead State. The Bruins won both meetings last season; 64-63 in Morehead and 93-74 in Nashville, as well as the meeting six days ago, 80-66.
