NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball continues conference play Saturday afternoon versus Tennessee Tech.
The Bruins defeated Jacksonville State, 78-67, Thursday evening. Sophomore Craig Bradshaw (Ridgetop, Tenn.) led balanced Belmont with 18 points.
Belmont head coach Rick Byrd served as an assistant coach at Tennessee Tech from 1980-83.
Belmont guard/forward J.J. Mann (Smyrna, Ga.) and Tennessee Tech forward Dennis Ogbe are both among 30 candidates for the Senior CLASS Award.
J.J. Mann averaged 18.5 points per game in the two games against Tennessee Tech last season.
This marks the 12th meeting between Belmont and Tennessee Tech in a series that dates back to Dec. 1956. With the Bruins joining the OVC last season, it marked the first series meeting since 1998. Belmont won both meetings a year ago, including 74-52 at the Curb Event Center.
Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. CT from the Curb Event Center.
