COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns to game action Saturday night at Tennessee Tech.
The Bruins defeated Morehead State, 76-73, Wednesday, closing the game on a 10-0 run over the final 1:11. Senior J.J. Mann (Smyrna, Ga.) hit the game-winning shot with 12 seconds left.
Mann and Tennessee Tech forward Dennis Ogbe were each named Capital One Academic All-District Thursday. Both are also among 30 candidates for the Senior CLASS Award.
Belmont head coach Rick Byrd served as an assistant coach at Tennessee Tech from 1980-83.
This marks the 13th meeting between Belmont and Tennessee Tech. The Bruins have won the three previous meetings, including 64-62 in Nashville Jan. 4.
