NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns to game action Saturday at Jacksonville State.
The Bruins defeated SIU Edwardsville, 94-75, Wednesday. Senior J.J. Mann (Smyrna, Ga.) led four Bruins in double figures with 25 points.
Belmont has several ties to the state of Alabama. Senior Drew Windler (South Milwaukee, Wis.) attended Samford University for three seasons. 2013 OVC Tournament MVP Kerron Johnson is a native of Huntsville. Assistant coach Mark Price is a graduate of Samford University and coached at Faulkner and UAH. 2012 graduate Mick Hedgepeth is a native of Crossville.
Belmont's 73-62 victory at Jacksonville State Jan. 3, 2013 was the program's first OVC victory. Senior J.J. Mann had a career-high 11 rebounds in the win.
This marks the ninth meeting between Belmont and Jacksonville State. Senior Blake Jenkins (Knoxville, Tenn.) had a career-high six assists in Belmont's 78-67 victory vs. Jacksonville State earlier this season.
Tip-off is set for 4:30 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on the OVC Digital Network.
