Men's Basketball Hosts Austin Peay Saturday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns to game action Saturday versus Austin Peay.

The Bruins defeated Murray State, 99-96, Thursday night in the highest scoring game in Curb Event Center history.

Seniors Blake Jenkins (Knoxville, Tenn.) and J.J. Mann (Smyrna, Ga.) each scored 25 points for Belmont.

Belmont associate head coach Brian Ayers is a Clarksville, Tenn. native, who served on the Governors' coaching staff during the 1995-96 season while earning his master's degree.

Belmont head coach Rick Byrd and Austin Peay head coach Dave Loos are the "deans" of OVC coaching. Byrd and Loos have combined to coach 1,897 games, with 1,144 career victories.

The Bruins won last year's meeting in Clarksville, 78-65, Feb. 9, 2013.

Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. CT from the Curb Event Center.
