NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns to game action Friday night versus Robert Morris in the second round of the 2014 Postseason NIT.
The Bruins defeated Green Bay, 80-65, Tuesday. Sophomore Craig Bradshaw scored a career-high 25 points for Belmont. The Bruins claimed their fifth straight regular season conference championship, second straight in the OVC after three in the Atlantic Sun.
Belmont sophomore Jeff Laidig and Robert Morris senior Karvel Anderson grew up about 10 minutes apart in northern Indiana. Laidig is from Mishawaka and Anderson is from Elkhart, both just east of South Bend.
Belmont head athletic trainer Paul Malloy is a native of Pittsburgh, Pa - home of Robert Morris University.
Friday night will mark the Bruins' first NCAA era home game in their ninth postseason appearance in 11 years.
This marks the first meeting between Belmont and Robert Morris.
Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m. CT from the Curb Event Center. The game will be televised on ESPNU and the WatchESPN app.
