EKU took a 2-0 lead behind a sacrifice fly from Luke Wurzelbacher and a Kyle Nowlin double. EKU scored a pair of runs in the third to extend their lead, 4-0.
EKU's Sean Hagen hit a solo home run and a delayed double steal, put the Colonels ahead 6-0 in the fifth.
An RBI single from Matt Beaty (Dresden, Tenn.) scored Drew Ferguson (Knoxville, Tenn.) in the bottom of the seventh to put the Bruins on the board, 6-1.
In the eighth, EKU scored four runs to extend their lead 10-1.
A two-out double from Jamie Ritchie (Buford, Ga.) in the bottom of the ninth scored Beaty making the score, 10-2.
In Patrick McGrath's (Jackson, Tenn.) three innings of work he matched a career-high five strikeouts.
Scott Moses (Englewood, Tenn.) went a season-long four innings during his relief appearance. He struck out three.
