TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The final weekend of the regular season has arrived as Belmont travels to Terre Haute, Indiana, for a three-game Missouri Valley Conference series against the Indiana State Sycamores Thursday through Saturday at Bob Warn Field.
Thursday's opener is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CT, followed by Friday's matchup at 5:30 p.m. CT and Saturday's regular season finale at 1 p.m. CT.
The Bruins enter the weekend at 19-33 overall and 9-12 in MVC play after facing Tennessee in a midweek contest Tuesday night. Belmont will now turn its full attention back to conference play and finishing the season on a high note.
Belmont's offense has continued to produce throughout the spring, led by one of the conference's top middle infields in Charlie Davis and Landon Godsey.
Davis enters the weekend batting .335 with 72 hits, 15 doubles, five triples, eight home runs, and 38 RBI. His five triples rank first in the Missouri Valley Conference, while his all-around offensive production has made him one of the league's most consistent hitters all season.
Godsey has been one of Belmont's biggest power threats, batting .305 with 20 doubles, nine home runs, and a team-leading 41 RBI. His 20 doubles rank tied for first in the MVC entering the final weekend of the regular season.
Together, Godsey and Davis rank among the conference leaders in doubles and triples and have anchored an offense that has totaled 58 home runs and 89 doubles this season.
Jake Maddox has also turned in a strong season offensively, hitting .288 with 14 doubles, three triples, seven home runs, and 32 RBI, while Cavan McMeans has added 54 hits and 31 RBI from the middle of the lineup.
Behind the plate, veteran catcher Mike Sprockett continues to provide leadership and experience entering the final series of his collegiate career. Sprockett has appeared in 48 games this season with seven home runs and 24 RBI.
On the mound, Belmont will look to lean on several key contributors during the weekend. Friday Starter Shane Duke has settled has shown some promise since returning from injury. Pitching 9.2 innings and producing 14 strikeouts. Saturday's probable starter Junior Zane Brown has had tremendous success this season posting a 4.86 ERA and 37 strikeouts. Freshman Ridge Harvey will start on Sunday for the Bruins and has been a steady presence on the mound this season posting a 4.75 ERA in 13 appearances and 7 starts and is second on the team with 44 strikeouts and 13 batters walked this year.
The Bruins will face an Indiana State team that has consistently been among the MVC's top programs and traditionally plays well at home inside Bob Warn Field. The Sycamores have once again positioned themselves at the top of the conference standings entering the final weekend of league play.

- Friday starter Ryan Karst owns a 3.35 ERA with 44 strikeouts in 51 innings and has been one of the Sycamores' most reliable arms. Saturday starter Ty Brooks has been a key weekend starter on the mound, posting a 5-3 record with 48 strikeouts across 67 innings pitched.
