Belmont-Pepperdine Game Preview

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns to game action Saturday vs. Pepperdine.

Belmont defeated Milwaukee, 82-63, Wednesday. Senior Amanze Egekeze (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) scored a career-high 32 points while junior Dylan Windler (Indianapolis, Ind.) posted his eighth double-double.

Freshman Nick Hopkins (Fayetteville, Tenn.) added 12 points for his fifth double figure scoring game of the season.

Belmont Coordinator of Academic Services and Sport Ministry Jordan Holm is a 2009 Pepperdine graduate. Holm is currently in Grand Goâve, Haiti on a mission trip with a group of Belmont student-athletes.

Belmont is very familiar with Pepperdine Director of Athletics Dr. Steve Potts. Dr. Potts held the same position at Lipscomb University - two miles from Belmont in Nashville - from 2000 to 2008.

Jan van Breda Kolff, who coached Belmont assistant coach James Strong for three seasons at Vanderbilt ('00), coached at Pepperdine from 1999-2001.

This marks the second meeting between Belmont and Pepperdine. Belmont won last season, 85-77, at Firestone Fieldhouse.
