Belmont-Jacksonville State Game Preview

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns to game action Saturday vs. Jacksonville State.

Belmont defeated Tennessee Tech, 80-67, Thursday. Junior Dylan Windler (Indianapolis, Ind.) tied his career-high with 24 points for the Bruins. Windler ranks among OVC leaders in nine statistical categories, and is among national leaders in double-doubles (9) and rebounds per game (9.4).

Belmont has several ties to the state of Alabama. Belmont assistant coach James Strong and 2013 OVC Tournament MVP Kerron Johnson are natives of Huntsville. Former Bruin Drew Windler ('14) attended Samford University for three seasons. Assistant coach Mark Price is a graduate of Samford University and coached at Faulkner and UAH. Former Bruin Mick Hedgepeth ('12) is a native of Crossville.

Senior Austin Luke (Rowlett, Texas) had 16 assists last season vs. Jacksonville State.

Belmont's victory at Jacksonville State in 2014 helped the Bruins secure a fifth consecutive regular season conference championship, and second straight in the OVC (2013, 2014).

Two-time All-American Evan Bradds ('17) had 152 points and 76 rebounds in his last seven games vs. Jacksonville State.

This marks the 17th meeting between Belmont and Jacksonville State, and 12th in OVC play. Belmont has won nine of the last 11 meetings.
