JACKSON, Tenn. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in sixth place at the Grover Page Classic held this week at Jackson Country Club in Jackson, Tennessee.
The Bruins carded a final round team score of 293 to finish in sixth place with a 54-hole mark of 864. North Alabama won the team title at 843, while Bellarmine finished second at 856 and host UT-Martin was third at 857.
Three Bruins finished among the top-20 at this week's event. Freshman
Jack Schoenberger carded a two-under par round of 70 on Tuesday to move up 20 spots and finish tied for 18
th at 216. His scorecard featured one eagle, three birdies, one bogey and one double bogey. It was his second straight top-20 finish to start his Belmont career.
Junior
Patrick Brooks and freshman
Conner Brown each tied for 20
th at 217. Brooks shot a one-over par 73 to post his first career top-20 finish. Brown, competing as an individual, carded a two-under par round of 70 to earn a top-20 finish in his first collegiate start.
Other Belmont scores from the tournament included: graduate student
Joe Bultman (T-36, 220), sophomore Michael Senn (T-36, 220), and junior
Reeve Felner (T-47, 222).
The individual medalist was Carter Goodwin of North Alabama, who posted a 207 in three rounds.
The men's golf team will be back in action next Monday and Tuesday at the JT Poston Invitational in Sapphire Valley, North Carolina.
