NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Following her first Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week award, Belmont University's 
Madison Bartley has been selected as Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Announced by the organization Tuesday morning, the junior forward collects her first state player of the week honor.
 
Leading all scorers in both of the Bruins' home victories over the weekend, Bartley was outstanding. The Kettering, Ohio (Kettering Fairmont HS), native averaged 24 points and six rebounds in 23.7 minutes across the two wins. Shooting 60 percent (18-of-30) from the field and going 11-for-12 (.917) at the free-throw line, Bartley notched back-to-back 20-point performances.
 
In Belmont's Friday night win over Missouri State, Bartley scored 14 of her season-high 26 points in the fourth quarter. She went 8-for-8 at the foul line and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, scoring eight-straight points in the closing minutes to seal the victory.
 
On Sunday, Bartley was ultra-efficient in the Bruins' 56-point, 101-45 blowout of Southern Illinois. In only 15:49 of action on the court, Bartley scored 22 points on 9-for-10 shooting and collected four boards.
 
Bartley has scored in double figures in eight of her last 10 games.
 
Belmont returns to game action this weekend, traveling to Indiana State Friday and Evansville Sunday. Tipoff of the Bruins' MVC road matchup with the Sycamores Friday is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT/6 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on 
ESPN3.
