NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont University men's cross country team earned third place overall at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships held on Friday morning.
The Bruins finished behind Drake (41 points), and Bradley (71 points) with 72 total points.
Making their return to Percy Warner Park, Belmont finished with three runners inside the top 15 of the field.Â
Zac Shaffer led the way for the Bruins in fifth place with a personal best time of 24:41.9, as Ethan Hammer crossed the line as the next Bruin in 12th with a time of 25:03.8.
Kevin Vanderkolk placed 14th, finishing with a personal best time of 25:11.5.
Joel Wolf earned 20th and Carter Cheesman quickly followed in 21st.
Jack Zettl finished in 25:51.6, with Jacob Ricks and Drew Brill as the next Bruins to finish.
Nick Mota closed out a successful day for the Bruins on the course, who improved on their fourth place finish at the MVC Championships a year ago.
Shaffer earned All-Conference honors while Hammer and Vanderkolk claimed All-Conference honorable mentions.
