ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in a tie for 10
that the Sea Palms Intercollegiate held this week at the Sea Palms Resort in St. Simons Island, Georgia.
The Bruins posted a final round score of 287 to move up two spots and finish in a tie for 10
th place with Bellarmine at 863. Davidson won the team title with a score of 809. Wright State placed second at 822, while Augusta was third at 837.
Two Bruins finished among the top-35. Sophomore Michael Senn posted a final round 66 to move up 34 slots and finish in a tie for 26
th place at 212. His 66 included an eagle, four birdies, and a bogey. It's a career best for the Arkansas native and is tied for the lowest round by a Bruin this year. He finished 12 shots back of the individual medalists: Mikkel Mathieson of Wright State and Erik Jansson of Jacksonville State (200).
Freshman
Jack Schoenberger was the only other Bruin among the top-35. He finished tied for 31
st at 214 after carding a 74 in Saturday's final round.
Graduate student
Joe Bultman shot a 76 on Saturday to finish the event in a tie for 48
th at 217.
Fellow graduate student
Jack Bergstrom tied for 78
th at 223, while junior
Reeve Felner tied for 101
st at 229.
Senior
Alex Whitehead, competing as an individual, finished 115
th with a mark of 237.
The men's golf team has about 10 days off before returning to the links on March 20-21 at the Missouri State Intercollegiate in Ozark, Missouri.
