COAL VALLEY, Ill. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in eighth place at this week's Missouri Valley Conference Championship held at Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, Illinois.
The Bruins shot a final round 298 on Tuesday to finish the championship in eighth place with a 54-hole score of 869. Illinois State won the team championship with a score of 836 with Valparaiso in second at 849.
Two Belmont golfers finished among the top-20. Freshman
Jack Schoenberger led BU as he tied for 11
th place at 214. He shot a two-over par 73 on Tuesday. It was his seventh top-20 finish of his first season as a Bruin.
Junior
Reeve Felner shot a final round 73 to finish in a tie for 20
th place at 217. It was his third top-20 finish of the season.
Sophomore Michael Senn tied for 26
th place at 219.
Freshman
Conner Brown finished in a tie for 30
th place at 221, while graduate student
Winston Margaritis was 43
rd at 225.
Valparaiso's Anthony Delisanti earned medalist honors with a score of 200.
This tournament wrapped up the season for the men's golf team. They won one team title and had six top-six finishes in 11 events.
