Belmont Honored for Excellence in Video Production

ATLANTA - - Belmont University is up for two national awards as the Sports Video Group (SVG) and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced finalists for the 2023 SVG/NACDA College Sports Media Awards.

Belmont is one of eight national finalists in the category Outstanding In-Venue Video for its women's basketball starting lineup introduction video.

Belmont also earned award nomination in the category Outstanding Social Media Video, for its season-long hype video series for each of the Bruins' 17 sponsored sports.

"In many ways our rise to national acclaim in video production and content creation mirrors our rise in national prominence as an athletic program. We take immense pride in the quality of Belmont athletic video productions and to be alongside preeminent national universities in our field speaks volumes to the talent and commitment of our students. Director of Athletic Video Operations Christian Sadler deserves enormous credit, as his leadership, dedication and vision for our video presence are at the heart of this announcement. I know Christian shares this honor with our entire production team."

"The college sports video production community answered the call in every facet of the game for this year's CSMAs," said Brandon Costa, director of digital at Sports Video Group and program director of the SVG College Summit. "From live game production to special features and videos produced specifically for social media or venue videoboards, the quality of the content has never been stronger. Schools of all staffing and budget sizes excelled in this year's competition. The amount of quality video production work being done at campuses across the country is truly incredible. It is one of the great honors for us here at SVG to host the CSMAs. This has been a special year for all involved."

Belmont has now received 13 honors from SVG over the last seven years, including two national finalist nods in the category of Outstanding Program Series for its season-long documentary series The Season: With Belmont Women's Basketball and Belmont Volleyball: All In.

Winners will be selected by a panel of judges and announced at the 15th-annual SVG College Sports Media Awards in association with NACDA ceremony, which will be hosted at the SVG College Summit in the Omni Atlanta Hotel on May 31.
