NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Completing its third meet of the 2024 season, the Belmont University men's track and field team finished up competition at the Bellarmine Classic on Friday.
Top Performing Bruins
Carter Cheeseman headlined for the Bruins, topping the men's mile record for the third time this season. Cheeseman blazed through the finish with a personal best time of 4:02.71, topping his previous record time of 4:03.81, set at the Vanderbilt Invitational.Â
Cheeseman holds the top spot in the Missouri Valley Conference in his respective event, and he sits at No.85 on the NCAA's Indoor Qualifying List.
Kevin Vanderkolk also topped the previous program record in the mile as he crossed the line in a personal best 4:03.55. He currently holds the No.3 spot in the MVC.Â
Jackson Grant notched a new personal best in shot put with a heave of 16.32m. He holds the No.9 spot in his respective event in the MVC.
Tezz Dozier ran a new personal best in the 200m dash, crossing the finish line in 22.06 seconds.Â
Lleyton Penn secured a personal best in shot put with a throw of 50' 3.5" (15.33m).Â

The Bruins will have one week off before returning to action on Friday and Saturday Feb. 9 & 10 at the Vanderbilt Indoor Music City Challenge.
