Nashville, Tenn. -- Competing in fifth meet weekend of the season, the Belmont University men's track and field team saw action on Friday and Saturday of the weekend. The team competed at the Joe Walker Invite in its second trip to Oxford, Mississippi this weekend.Â
Top Performing Bruins
FridayÂ
Austin Belle headlined for the Bruins on Friday by winning the 200m with a program record-setting time of 21.11. His mark places him at second place in the Missouri Valley Conference and inside the top 100 on the NCAA East Region Outdoor Qualifying List.Â
Jayce Gray also topped the 200m program record with a time of 21.42, securing a fourth place finish. His personal best places him at fifth in the MVC.
Zach Brill placed second in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:09.34, giving him the second place in the MVC.Â
Saturday
Vincent Flegeance placed second in the 100m hurdles with a personal best time of 14.16. He holds a top five time in the MVC in his event.Â
Belle secured third place in the 400m, with a blazing time of 47.08, just .01 off the program record time. He ranks No.1 in the MVC.
Jayce Gray placed third in the 100m in 10.72.
Morgan Lewis secured the top spot in the MVC with a second place finish and a personal best time in 52.84.
Robert Joseph secured personal bests in the shot put on Saturday and in the hammer throw earlier on Friday.
Next Up
The Bruins will travel across the country compete in the Bryan Clay Invitational in California next weekend.Â
