LEXINGTON, Ky. – The lone Belmont University men's track and field competitor at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships East First Round in Lexington, Kentucky, junior distance runner
Kevin Vanderkolk represented the Bruins well late Friday afternoon in the 3000m steeplechase. Taking to the track on the campus of the University of Kentucky, Vanderkolk finished seventh in his heat among a talented 48-man field.
The Brentwood, Tennessee (Brentwood HS), native completed the grueling race in under nine minutes (8:59.90) and placed 22nd overall.
Vanderkolk's NCAA Outdoor Championships East Preliminary debut at the Kentucky Outdoor Track & Field Facility closes out Belmont's 2024 season.
Vanderkolk was the first Bruin to qualify for the men's NCAA postseason since 2021.
