Baseball Travels to Austin Peay

Bruins Face Red-Hot Governors in Clarksville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont (22-25) travels to Austin Peay (30-17) on Tuesday afternoon for a midweek non-conference rematch. The Governors won the first matchup of the season 13-5 on April 9th. First pitch from Raymond C. Hand Park is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT. Fans can watch the game on ESPN+, listen live on iHeartRadio or follow along with live stats.
 
BRUIN BULLETS
  • Brodey Heaton has 210 career RBIs. He is three RBIs away from setting a new program record for most career RBIs. Derek Wiley ('09) holds the current record with 212 career RBIs. Heaton led the Bruins with six hits and four RBIs in the series against Indiana State.
  • Heaton continues to elevate his name in the Belmont record book. His 869 career at-bats are the third most all-time. Heaton's 39 career home runs are third all-time. His 259 career hits are the sixth-most all-time by a Belmont hitter.
  • Mason Landers hit his 18th home run of the season in the series against Indiana State, tied for the second-most in the MVC. Landers is three home runs away from surpassing Nate Wood's 20 home runs from the 2010 season for the most in a single season.
  • Landers' 52 RBIs lead the team and is tied for fifth in the MVC. Landers needs five more RBIs to move to record the tenth-most RBIs in a single season. Heaton is second on the team with 50 RBIs and seventh in the conference.

  • In the last 10 games, Heaton leads the team with a .412 batting average, 14 hits, 11 RBIs and seven walks.

  • Austin Peay has emerged as one of the best offenses in the nation. The Governors lead the nation in batting average (.358), hits (613), on-base percentage (.456), slugging percentage (.675), runs (523), doubles (130) and home runs (130).
  • The Governors' pitching staff averages 9.67 strikeouts per nine innings. Their 556 strikeouts in 504.1 innings ranks 37th nationally.
  • Austin Peay moved into sole passion of first place in the ASUN Conference with their series win on the road at Stetson. The Governors rallied in the rubber match from down four runs to win 12-7.
  • Austin Peay averages 13/8 runs per game with 66 home runs since April 6.
  • Harrison Brown was the seventh Governor to earn ASUN Weekly honors. Brown had 17 RBIs in four games last week, including a program-record 11 RBIs against Alabama A&M.
