HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Belmont men's cross country team wrapped up their 2025 season with a 14th-place finish at the NCAA South Regional meet on Friday morning at John Hunt Cross Country Running Park in Huntsville, Alabama.
The Bruins placed four runners in the top 100, finishing with 396 points. Alabama captured the team title with 37 points, finishing each of their five scorers in the top 15. Ole Miss took second with 75 points, followed by Georgia in third with 77 points.
Leading the way for Belmont was
Andrew Hammel, who placed 41st with a personal best time of 30:47.21. He beat out
Nick Mota, who finished first for Belmont at last year's regional competition, by nearly 30 seconds.
Drew Brill,
Zach Brill, and
Sam Shuman all placed in the top 100.
Drew Brill placed 82nd with a time of 31:39.20.
Zach Brill and
Sam Shuman finished as a pair at 92nd and 93rd.
Coleman Cronk and
Noah Epker also finished back-to-back at 107th and 108th.
Freshman
Noah Mathews ran a 33:46.59, placing 159th and rounding out the Bruins' roster.
The individual title went to Kelvin Cheruiyout of Florida, who ran an impressive 29:09.05.

This meet marks the conclusion of a successful season for Belmont. The Bruin men exceeded conference expectations by placing third at the MVC Championships.
