CHICAGO – The Belmont men's indoor track and field team earned several top finishes and stands in seventh place as the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships began Sunday in Chicago, Illinois.
The Bruins have 10.5 points.  UNI has the team lead at 44.5.
HIGHLIGHTS
In the 5000 meters,
Andrew Hammel placed fourth with a time of 14:25.13.
Jack Perry earned a fifth place finish in the pole vault with a mark of 4.75 meters.
Belmont's DMR team of Reuben MacDonald,
Daniel Crouse,
Gavin Morrow, and
Joel Wolf placed sixth with a time of 10:10.49.
In the preliminary events,
Jayce Gray qualified for the 60 meter final with a school record time of 6.80, while
Kevin Vanderkolk earned a spot in the mile final with a time of 4:11.20.
