Softball Adds Hannah Leierer for the 2026 Season

The Texas native comes to Belmont from Campbell University.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University softball head coach Laura Matthews announced Thursday the signing of Hannah Leierer to play softball for the Bruins, starting in the 2025-26 academic year.

Leierer, a rising junior, spent the previous two seasons at Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina.

"We are excited to welcome Hannah Leierer to Belmont," Matthews said. "She brings a wealth of experience, winning, and championship pedigree to Nashville. Moreover, she adds a different style and dimension to our pitching staff. Hannah comes from a tremendous high school and club program in Texas; we believe Belmont University aligns perfectly with her vision, values, and educational aspirations."

The Kingwood, Texas native was a mainstay starting pitcher for the Camels who reached the CAA championship game in 2024 and 2025.

Leierer went 9-5 with a 3.26 ERA in 25 appearances and 17 starts this past season.

She was named to the 2024 CAA All-Rookie Team after posting a 2.87 ERA in 26 appearances.

The right-handed pitcher threw a perfect game vs. Winthrop Feb. 23, 2024.

Belmont Softball looks to build off a historic 2025 campaign, which included an NCAA Tournament victory, the Missouri Valley Conference tournament championship, and a program-record 41 victories.
