Belmont Student-Athletes Highlight MVC Honor Roll

77.5 Percent of Bruins Earn Academic Distinction

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - - Belmont University student-athletes highlighted the 2024-25 Missouri Valley Conference Honor Roll, the league office announced Wednesday.
 
196 Belmont student-athletes - nearly 77.5 percent of all Bruins in 2024-25 - earned MVC Honor Roll distinction, emblematic of holding a minimum 3.2 grade-point average for a specified term.
 
Earlier this month, Belmont claimed the 2024-25 MVC All-Academic Award – with a 3.573 department-wide GPA.
 
Belmont University has now claimed a conference academic achievement award 22 of the last 24 academic years.
 
19 Belmont student-athletes earned the league's highest honor, the MVC Board of Directors Academic Excellence Award.

The MVC Board of Directors Academic Excellence Award requires a minimum 3.8 cumulative grade point average, partici­pation in athletics a minimum of two years, and the student-athlete must be within 18 hours of graduation (by the end of the Spring 2025 semester).
 
For the 2025 spring semester, 84 percent of eligible Belmont student-athletes posted a 3.0 grade-point average or higher, with 64 percent earning a 3.5 GPA or higher.
 
Moreover, the league extended its Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award, which requires a minimum grade point average of 3.5 for each of the previous two semesters, a minimum 3.2 cumulative grade point average, and participation in athletics a minimum of two years. 151 Belmont student-athletes were honored.

Rounding out the accolades, the MVC presented its league honor roll. To qualify for the Valley Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have recorded a minimum 3.2 grade point average for a specified term (Fall 2024/Spring 2025), must have been a member of an athletics team, and must have been enrolled full time during the term they earned the honor.
