Baseball Returns for Home Opener

Will Play first Home Game of the season for Mid-week.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — After opening the season with an encouraging showing on the road, the Bruins return to E.S. Rose Park, hosting their first home game of the season.

Belmont enters the homestand coming off a three-game set in which the Bruins showed immediate offensive promise, batting .296 as a team with 29 hits and 17 RBIs over the weekend. The highlight came in Belmont's 14–4 win, when the lineup erupted for 17 hits and demonstrated its ability to generate runs in bunches.

Several Bruins bring strong early-season numbers into the home opener. Brody Langlotz leads the way with a .500 average, five hits, a home run, and three RBIs, while Charlie Davis is hitting .462 with a pair of doubles. Cavan McMeans has also made an early impact, batting .333 with a home run and three RBIs, and Landon Godsey has contributed a .300 average and two RBIs. As a team, Belmont has already produced six doubles and two home runs, signaling the extra-base potential of the lineup.

On the mound, Belmont will look to build around a group that gained valuable early innings last weekend. Tate Marland delivered one of the most effective outings of the series, allowing just one run over five innings to earn the win, while Shane Duke posted two scoreless innings in relief. The Bruins utilized 11 pitchers across the opening series as they continue to define roles and build depth early in the season.

Belmont's midweek matchup will come against the Bellarmine Knights, who arrive in Nashville early in their own season looking to gain momentum in non-conference play. The Knights are known for their aggressive approach offensively and willingness to utilize multiple arms on the mound in midweek contests, often creating match up challenges as they evaluate pitching depth. The game provides both programs an opportunity to refine lineups, build innings, and continue settling into the rhythm of the season while facing an unfamiliar opponent outside of conference competition.

The return to E.S. Rose Park gives Belmont an opportunity to translate that offensive momentum into a complete performance at home while continuing to sharpen execution defensively and on the mound. Midweek games are often key development opportunities, and the Bruins will look to pair continued production at the plate with more consistency from their pitching staff.

This week's contests mark the start of Belmont's home schedule and the next step in turning encouraging opening-weekend performances into sustained success as the 2026 season begins to take shape.

Belmont continues their home stand and will play Central Michigan in a double header on Friday, February 20 starting at 1:00 PM at E.S. Rose Park.
