NASHVILLE, Tenn. --  Belmont baseball returns to E.S. Rose Park this weekend for a four-game series against Georgia State. The series marks Belmont's second home weekend of the 2026 campaign as the Bruins continue to build a rhythm in the early portion of the season.
Belmont enters the weekend at 2-6 overall and 1-3 at home, looking to translate steady offensive production into results as the team settles into defined roles both at the plate and on the mound.
Â
The Bruins have collected 74 hits through their first eight contests and are batting .280 as a team, showing consistent ability to put runners on base and create scoring opportunities.
Brody Langlotz has been Belmont's most productive hitter to date, batting .462 while tallying 12 hits, including a home run, and posting a .517 on-base percentage. Charlie Davis has complemented that production with a .389 average and a team-leading 14 hits, helping set the tone offensively.
Jake Maddox has been a key catalyst in the middle of the lineup, combining power and speed to impact games in multiple ways. Maddox is hitting .321 with nine hits, six runs scored, and four RBI while leading the team with three triples. His ability to stretch hits into extra bases and apply pressure on opposing defenses has added an important dynamic to Belmont's offensive approach.
Cavan McMeans leads the Bruins with seven RBI and ranks among the team leaders in extra-base hits, including three doubles and a home run, while Landon Godsey has added six RBI and four doubles of his own to provide depth throughout the order. JD Whitworth has also contributed strong on-base production, drawing seven walks and posting a .481 on-base percentage.
On the mound, Belmont has recorded 58 strikeouts across 65 innings, with several arms turning in encouraging early-season performances.
Tate Marland owns a 2-0 record and a 2.38 ERA over two starts, striking out 12 batters in 11.1 innings to anchor the rotation. Out of the bullpen, Shane Duke has yet to allow a run while striking out seven across four innings, and McKale Stevenson carries a 1.93 ERA with seven strikeouts in three appearances. Ridge Harvey has also been effective in relief, posting a 2.08 ERA and earning a save.
Defensively, Belmont holds a .961 fielding percentage through eight games. McMeans and Godsey remain perfect in the field, while Maddox has handled a team-high 66 chances at first base, providing a steady presence on the infield.
