NASHVILLE, Tenn. - -Â Belmont University Women's Track & Field returns to competition this Friday and Saturday at the Tennessee Invite hosted by the University of Tennessee.

Belmont is coming off a dual-meet weekend in Texas, where they participated in the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Texas State, and the prestigious Texas Relays hosted by the Longhorns.

Competition starts early on Friday morning with
Isabella Piette in the hammer throw at 8 a.m. CST. Also competing in field events on Friday are
Averie Cobbs in the pole vault, and
Kate Briscoe and
Maggie Swarr in the javelin.
Looking forward to a competitive weekend, Briscoe says, "we've had a strong start to the season, and the team has already put up some impressive numbers early on. It's been a great indicator of the work we've put in, and I'm excited to compete this weekend and keep that momentum moving forward."
The Bruin women race in the 1500m at 2 p.m. which is their only running event of the day.
On Saturday, the ladies get the competition started with the 100m hurdles at 11 a.m. Throughout the day, the Bruins will compete in the 800m, 400m, and the high jump.
