NASHVILLE, Tenn. -Â Belmont University Women's Track & Field will take part in the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend from Gibson Track & Field Complex in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Â
The Bruins have had a strong season thus far, with many improving upon their personal best marks from the beginning of the year. At the Outdoor Music City Challenge on May 1-2, Belmont women posted seven new personal records and multiple top-10 finishes.
The weekend's competition opens with the 10,000m on Saturday morning, followed by the start of the heptathlon. Throughout the afternoon, select Bruins will compete in the 1500m, 100m hurdles, 800m, 400m hurdles, and steeplechase. Hammer throw, pole vault, and javelin throw athletes will also compete in their events on Saturday.
Bruins may have the chance to compete in the finals of the 1500m, 100m hurdles, 800m, and 400m hurdles on Sunday. Also competing are the 5,000m racers and the Bruins' 4x400m relay team.
Coach
Cameron Harvey hopes the team can bring home a few medals from the meet. "The women's team is in a good position to come away with some individual hardware this weekend. The heptathlon, 10,000m, 400m hurdles, and javelin are probably our strongest events right now," says Harvey. "I know the women are excited to go out there and show the conference that we're a program to be recognized after a bit of a lackluster indoor conference."
Â
At last year's championships the Bruins brought home six medals, including a bronze medal in the javelin throw earned by returning student-athlete
Kate Briscoe.
Complete meet schedule and live results are available through belmontbruins.com. The MVC Outdoor Championships will be broadcast on ESPN+. Inclement weather may affect the schedule of events throughout the weekend.
