Several Bruins earned podium spots throughout the weekend, and even more scored points for the team between two days of competition.
Headlining Belmont's success was heptathlon athlete Carlota Salgado García. She performed consistently well in each of her seven events, never placing below 5th. Her most impressive performances were in the 200m, where she placed 2nd with a new personal best time of 25.74, and the javelin throw. In her final of three throws, Salgado García hit a new personal record by four meters, catapulting her to first place in both the javelin and the heptathlon competition. Her second place finish in the final event, the 800m, solidified her gold medal victory. She finished with a school record-breaking 5,011 points.

Also medaling for the Bruins was
Maggie Swarr, who earned silver in the javelin throw, putting a bow on her excellent season. Swarr held the top spot in the event up until an impressive final throw from Northern Iowa's Katy Stephens.
Belmont had several athletes qualify for finals during Saturday's preliminary rounds.
Lilie Fouts and
Callie Kent both qualified for the 1500m final, where Fouts finished in the 8th place scoring position.
Aiyah Siggers was the last-seeded qualifier in the 100m hurdles after running a personal best on Saturday. She then improved her time again to place 6th in Sunday's final.
Jennifer Mims also qualified in the 400m hurdles. She placed 2nd in the prelims with a personal best time of 1:00.31.
Sophie Nicholls earned a top-5 finish in the 10,000m, placing 5th after leading the pack for much of the race on Saturday night. She followed it up with a 7th place finish in the 5,000m on Sunday.
